I see you, busy girl. Meal Prep tips might just be the way for you to save some time and be able to pour more into your business. Your to-do list is miles long for your business, let alone all the tasks that are knocking at your personal doorstep. We wear lots of hats as girlbosses and finding ways to simplify & strategize is something I am always ready to raise my hand for when juggling so many different things. Just as I advise in my business coaching sessions if there are repetitive tasks that you find yourself coming across in your business create a system that allows you to synthesize and save time. Eating is sorta a human need, so why not make it as easy as possible in your busy schedule. Meal Prep for Entrepreneurs

If you spend any time on social media, I’m sure you have seen pictures of food neatly organized in little containers with the words meal prep stamped underneath it! If you’re not familiar with what meal prep is, it’s a way of approaching your meals for the week with the intention of saving time, money and staying on track with your health goals.

Some folks prep buffet style (cooking big batches of meats, vegetables, and grains and assembling on the fly) and some meal prep by making entire meals. As a chef, I love to make fully assembled meals and save them for the week. I think it tastes better and gives me even less room for error. It’s helped me stay on track with my fitness goals, given me more time to go to the gym or relax on weeknights and saved me money that I use to travel with my husband!

As you can see, there are so many benefits to spending a few hours on one day to meal prep your food! I know as you all run your companies how many hats you juggle. I wanted to share 5 tips with you to equip you as girlbosses to own your kitchen and take back some much needed time! 5 Meal Prep Tips for Girlbosses

1.) Take small steps with meal planning!

If you are new to the concept of meal prep or short on time, try prepping only one of your daily meals. For example, make your lunches for the week. You will still see so many benefits and you’ll begin to build the habit!

2.) Keep snacks simple!

Don’t try and make extravagant snacks, this will eat away at your meal prep time. Think energy bites, trail mix, apples, bananas and other easy grab and go items. I have some easy energy bite recipes on my blog here that you can try!

3.) Use your oven!!!

Buy at least 4 sheet pans and put them to work. Want to check our my favorites? Head here to order some fresh pans! Roast vegetables, cook proteins and even make frittatas on them! By having most of your items cooking in the oven, you will be able to make sauces, chop salads and do other tasks that will make assembly a snap.

4.) Short on time?

Don’t be afraid to use pre-chopped vegetables and fruits or cooked items like chicken sausage, turkey burgers or rotisserie chicken to help you get the job done!

5.) Invest in good containers!

Look for ones that have tight-fitting lids, are BPA free (if they are plastic) and are reusable. Avoid storing food in old butter tubs, yogurt containers etc.. Here is a link to my favorite ones so you can be set up for success!
