Best Business Advice: You have to be constantly learning and evolving. Success doesn’t happen in a vacuum. The best thing I’ve ever done for my business is having open, honest conversations with like-minded women.
Favorite App: Canva or Picmonkey
I was so lucky to meet Lindsay at the Alt Conference this passed winter. I call her my “elevator-cockroach-friend.” We met in the elevator on our way to bed and caught a quick conversation about what we both did and then bonded over the state of our hotel rooms via DM on Instagram after that- love how the funniest things can bring us together.
Over a decade ago Lindsay took her passion and hobby of crafting and turned it into something she shared through her blog, with the endearing name of Shrimp Salad Circus. If you searching for a deep meaning behind the name, look no further, it comes from a fun joke between friends of putting silly words together, and now resembles a brand with significant following and influence. She works full time with a non-profit and then pours herself on the side into her DIY blog where she shares approachable projects to help people realize they can be creative, too. In the influencer era, she believes in the power of authentic brand partnerships and has worked with companies like IKEA, Starbucks, Michaels, and more. Lindsay lives just outside Washington, D.C. with her hubby and nine-month-old daughter and their two rescue cats and sweet little mutt. When she’s not working, “mommying”, or craft blogging you’ll catch her on an airplane traveling to some new adventure.
